Travel by Car

Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre is nestled between two major roads coming into campus (University Boulevard and 16th Ave) making it easily accessible from all points of the compass. The arena is located on the corner of Thunderbird Boulevard and Wesbrook Mall inside the UBC Campus.

From the North

(Coming into the UBC campus via West 4th)

West 4th turns into Chancellor Boulevard
Turn left (south) onto Wesbrook Mall from Chancellor Boulevard
Pass the first traffic light (intersection of University Boulevard and Wesbrook Mall
Pass the UBC Hospital on your right
Second Traffic light is Thunderbird Boulevard and Wesbrook Mall where the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre is located.

(Coming into the UBC campus via West 10th)

West 10th turns into University Boulevard
Turn left (South) onto Wesbrook Mall from University Boulevard
Pass the UBC Hospital on your right
First traffic light is Thunderbird Boulevard and Wesbrook Mall where the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre is located.

(Coming into UBC campus via West 16th)

Make right (North) on Wesbrook Mall (roundabout is Wesbrook Mall)
First traffic light is intersection of Thunderbird Boulevard and Wesbrook Mall where the arena is located on your left.

From the South

(Coming to campus via West 41st, 49 th or Southwest Marine Drive)

Both 41st. and 49th Ave will join South West Marine Drive
Continue straight down Southwest Marine Drive
Turn right (East) on 16the Ave
Pass the first traffic light and make a left on Wesbrook Mall at the roundabout
First traffic light is intersection of Thunderbird Boulevard and Wesbrook Mall where the arena is located on your left.

Parking

There is a 1,600 space parkade directly across the street from the venue (Thunderbird Parkade) and another 350 space surface lot directly behind it (Lot B1). Plus there is another 1,000 space parkade a few minutes walking distance north of the venue (Health Science Parkade). There is street meter parking all around the venue.
